Stress Management Books Are Everywhere

stress management booksStress is a growth industry and stress management books are everywhere you look. Hardly anyone alive in the twenty-first century escapes the plague of too much stress. However, stress management is not a one-size-fits all proposition. Different approaches work for different people in different situations.

There are books that are unabashedly about this subject. They have titles like, Stress Management for this or that demographic group. Stress Management for Dummies is a popular example. Like all the books in the Dummies series this one receives high praise for providing useful information in a form that is easy and enjoyable to read.

Many bookstores now have an entire section devoted entirely to coping with stress. In that area you will find books on stress management for people of all ages in all careers with all sorts of problems. A significant number of books are directed to helping patients deal with stress as they manage cancer, cardiac disease and mental illnesses.

One thing the array of books about handling stress suggests is that everyone is a candidate for this kind of help. Something else a keen observer might notice is the relationship between health and stress. It is unusual to find any book on health that doesn't mention stress.

It might be written from a Western Medicine approach to coping with surgery. Or it might be an alternative book on herbs, acupuncture or homeopathic remedies. In any case it is a rare book on health that won't address the importance of stress management. If you have health concerns a good place to start looking for books on ways to deal with stress is to find books on a particular particular illness or treatment that interests you.

Health is not the only subject matter that includes information on minimizing stress. Virtually all self improvement books deal with stress in one way or another. Any time an author discusses breathing or meditation or exercise they are addressing the subject of stress management.

Books on organization, time management, study skills, sex, or sports will at some point tell you that you won't be at your best until you learn to manage stress. Books on Feng Shui teach you that eliminating clutter will help you eliminate stress. Not only will authors of these types of books address the subject of stress but they will probably recommend other stress management books as well.
